How to Make Catupiry at Home

Brazilians living abroad, and others, who love our cooking, miss delicious Catupiry cream cheese. This is a favorite ingredient on pizza and  in many other unforgettable dishes from our country.  If you cannot find Catupiry to make your favorite pizza, here is a recipe for a mix that bears a strong resemblance to the real thing.  

1 lb. Munster cheese
2 packages (9 oz.) Philadelphia Cream Cheese

Over very low heat, or a double boiler, melt the two cheeses together until they are completely blended.  Remove the  mixture from the heat, place it in a container and let it cool. Put the cooled mixture in the refrigerator for a few hours.. Now you can use in any recipe that calls for Catupiry
